My friend, Tim Suttle, who is the lead pastor of our church, wrote a book last year called An Evangelical Social Gospel? It was recently reviewed at The Other Journal.
You should check out the review and then the book.
It's worth the read, particularly if you are a North American Evangelical who is beginning to question your assumptions about what it means to be a follow of Jesus, particularly how Evangelicalism lacks a full sense of the corporate aspect of our faith due to our being formed by the extreme individualism of American culture.
